Golden Horseshoe Pension, Aggtelek
More than 150 years ago, Kovács János, the head of a family from Aggtelek, founded a farm full of farm animals, on top of which horses always stood. For 4 generations, the family has been engaged in farming in the surrounding fields, growing fruit in the family orchards, or transport by horse-drawn carts. Three siblings, Anna Erzsébet, Gyula and Pál Károly, after whom we took over the farm in 2022, lovingly told us the fairytale story of their childhood, which they spent here. After a complete reconstruction, the main ambition of which was to preserve everything original with the comfort of the 21st century, we would like to welcome a discerning guest who will appreciate the "genius loci" of this place and at the same time a well-equipped guesthouse for 10 guests. The eventual 11th, rarest guest has his own wooden cot ready in the quietest part.

Location
The Aggtelek National Park has been listed with the UNESCO as part of Slovak and Hungarian national heritage since 1995. The most famous cave of the Aggtelek and Slovak Karst area is 25 km-long Baradla-Domica. The world under the ground is home to 500 different animal species and the archaeological findings from this area have proven that some of the caves were even occupied by the primaeval man. The Baradla cave has excellent acoustics thanks to which there are classical concerts organised in this unusual concert hall. Each year, Aggtelek appears in Baedeker guides as one of the Hungarian TOP tourist destinations.
